Question 1

How do I install a Kontakt library?

Accepted Answer

Download the Kontakt library (.nki or folder) from Plugg Supply, extract the ZIP if needed, then open Native Instruments Kontakt, click the Files tab, navigate to the extracted folder, and drag the .nki instrument file onto the Kontakt rack. The library is ready to play immediately.

Question 2

What format are the sample packs available in?

Accepted Answer

Sample packs on Plugg Supply are available in WAV (uncompressed, 24-bit/44.1kHz standard) and AIFF formats. Kontakt libraries use .nki format. Serum presets are .fxp files and Vital presets use .vital format. All formats are industry-standard and compatible with major DAWs.

Question 3

Do Serum presets work in other synths like Vital?

Accepted Answer

No — Serum presets (.fxp) are specific to Xfer Records Serum, and Vital presets (.vital) work only in Vital. However, Plugg Supply provides preset packs for both synthesizers separately so you can always find the right format for your synth.

Question 4

Do I need a full version of Kontakt to use these libraries?

Accepted Answer

Some Kontakt libraries require Kontakt full version (paid). Others work in Kontakt Player (free). Each library download page on Plugg Supply specifies compatibility. Kontakt 5, 6, or 7 are all supported depending on the library.

Question 5

Can I use these sample packs in commercial music?

Accepted Answer

Royalty-free sample packs on Plugg Supply can be used in your productions, including commercial releases. Always check the individual license that comes with each pack, as terms may vary. Most packs are cleared for music distribution on Spotify, YouTube, and streaming platforms.
